Fiona (Red Sarah Bernhard)

What a fabulous name for a peony! And in our opinion, one of the best full double, dark deep red lactiflora varieties of the rose type. Very pretty in all aspects. Very large size petals with pale edges,  above the waxy, dark-green leaves on dark-red stems. Origins unknown but this variety very closely resembles "Red Sarah Bernhardt"; a Chinese introduction from 1980. Not APS registered, but very worth the garden space...IF you can find it when available! An excellent choice for landscape use, and also as a cut flower. We are shipping peonies in Fall time.
