Topeka Statue

This peony stole my heart  ones I've seen her! It can be called "Hidden beauty". That’s what this unique and phenomenal peony in fact is. Introduced 30 years ago and not known widely, this peony disserve one of the best place in the garden!  Myron Bigger, the breeder, had an excellent eye for picking the right seedlings for registration. According the words of hybridizer, he always turned his had in the side of this seedlings as to woman on the sidewalk. This peony is very aptly named, mentioning the hometown of the breeder as well as its magnificent posture. Upright plant habit like a statue. Extra strong and sturdy brownish red stems that will present a huge spray of flowers, clearly floating above the healthy dark green foliage.  For many peonies, five lateral buds per stalk is the standard minimum, Topeka Statue has 6-7 or up to 10 florets on the single stalk!!  On the photos from our garden, you can see an exemplary bush. Even one stem of this peony can be cut and create the bouquet to enjoy in the house. The Japanese type blooms are very lovely, open soft pink and later turn a white. The many blooms on a plant will form a screen of pink and white with lovely yellow centers. A pleasant fragrance from this amazing bush is spreading around neighborhood by light, warm wind and bring a smile on one’s face with every trip down. This unique peony deserves to be in many- many gardens, and we will do all it can happened! It is so rare peony and must have in all collection! We are shipping peony's roots in Autumn.
